Granite gate posts, bluebells, beech woods and rhododendrons, informal gardens and countryside that touches the very edge of Dartmoor , Burnville is a substantial Georgian house stunningly situated with magnificent views over Dartmoor from all the guest rooms.


A tranquil setting
Absorb the silence of the countryside and enjoy a warm welcome from your hosts Tim and Victoria Cunningham. There are just two well appointed large guest bedrooms, Waverly and Derbyshire simply decide which one you would like to make your own and settle in.


Stretch & explore
The discerning elegance of Burnville and it's working beef and sheep farm. Take a dip in the heated outdoor pool. Play a game of tennis. Try clay pigeon shooting. Stroll in the grounds or venture a little further over the fields to the Church on the Tor or Lydford Gorge and the dramatic 30m high White Lady waterfall.

We have various sizes of mountain bikes available for guests' use.

Relax & enjoy
In the comfort of your luxurious en-suite bedroom, complete with super king size bed and antique furniture. Large Georgian windows offer breathtaking views of the garden and rolling countryside. Read a good book; lounging in the garden or in the cooler months in front of a roaring log fire in the large comfortable drawing room.

Sample the delights of the local pubs and award winning restaurants complete with a driver service offered by your hosts .

Enjoy a farmhouse breakfast and select from a sumptuous evening meal menu , prepared from the finest local ingredients and produce from the farm, served in the dining room .

Step to the east to explore Dartmoor by foot or mountain bike; outdoor activities abound. Drive south to discover the delights of Tavistock, voted The Daily Telegraph's Market Town of the Year and the beauty of the Tamar Valley . Go on further to the fishing villages of the south coast and the cathedral city of Exeter . Head north to the rugged coastline of Cornwall and venture west to Eden and the Lost Gardens of Heligan.
