 The Dartmoor Sunday Rover is a year-round network of trains and buses. A ticket gives unlimited travel for the day on many buses, and trains between Exeter and Okehampton. This enables you to enjoy a relaxing day out. Combine it with a visit to family and friends or use it to go shopping, walking, or exploring. Spring Birdwatching Walks

April to May is the ideal time to see birds at close quarters and the best ways to find the m is to go out in a small group with an experienced local guide. All our walks start from Trendlebere Down (lower car park) at 9.30 a.m. and have a maximum of six people but you must book in advance (see contact details below). Cost is £5.00 per head for a 3 hour walk.

Contributing to the ongoing debate of sustainability and future protection of the environment, Reclaiming Be au ty will investigate makers who choose to use reclaimed materials and will explore the subtlety required in transforming waste and found items into be au tiful objects. Renewable water-power energy, the power of the future!   We take bookings for walks for groups of up to 30 people at a standard cost of £50 plus VAT. On the walk you will see how we turn the power of falling water, from the West Webburn River , into electrical energy, enough for 80 homes, whilst enjoying the walk on our farm and through our ancient woodland. Allow 2 hours.

Talks can also be booked. These have a presentation, approx an hour, which shows how the hydro electric scheme was created taking care to minimise the impact on the environment it was built in. Booking required. Refreshments available at the end of the walk if requested. No toilet facilities on site.

HARROWBEER ARCHIVE WEEKEND. Knightstone Tearooms, Yelverton is hosting ano the r ‘RAF Harrowbeer Archive/Memorabilia Weekend' over the end of May Bank Holiday Saturday 24 th Sunday 25 th & Monday 26 th from 11am to 4.30pm.each day. The event is laid on to make visitors and locals aware of what went on during the 1940s on a stretch of moorland close to Yelverton. How the village was split in half, buildings demolished and roads repositioned to make way for a 2 nd World War RAF Fighter Station. On Sunday and Monday afternoons at 2.00pm the re will be a living history display on how an incendiary bomb would have been dealt with and made safe after an attack. There will also be exhibits by the South West Heritage Aviation group and the Harrowbeer Interest Group, who will be giving guided walks throughout the weekend. The 16 th Mythic Garden Sculpture Exhibition opens on 4th May in the lovely setting of Stone Lane Gardens near Chagford.  This is an important annual showcase for West-country sculptors and designers, displaying imaginative work in a variety of media. Stone Lane Gardens is a tranquil woodland and water garden, featuring National Collections of Birch & Alder trees. Backed by the gentle Dartmoor hills, the garden is a peaceful but stimulating place to wander in, which fascinates children and adults. Visitors comment that the y enjoy seeing sculpture in the se unusual and inspirational surroundings. The Mythic Garden Sculpture Exhibition runs from 4 th May to 28 th September. We are just off the A382 between Chagford and Whiddon Down, on the north-eastern corner of Dartmoor .
