Quickes Traditional Cheddar
is the most widely available cheddar matured in a muslin wrapped truckle still to be made and matured on a single farm. Every cheddar is hand made by one of nine skilled cheese makers on our farm in the village of Newton St Cyres in mid Devon, 170 miles south west of London in England 's Westcountry. The Okehampton Farmers' Market is held on the St James Chapel Square, in the centre of Okehampton, on the 3rd Saturday of each month from 9.00am to 1pm. We have 20 or more stalls with locally produced food and crafts. Close to the A30 and gateway to North Dartmoor.
You will find pork and pork products, chicken, venison, ostrich, lamb, beef and game in season. Fresh fish (weather permitting). Luxury pâtés (meat, fish & vegetarian). Cheeses (goat, cow & buffalo), preserves (including jams, jellies, marmalades, chutneys & pickles), honey and honey products. Apple juices (single variety),ciders and cider vinegar. Handmade chocolates, cakes and quiches. Vegetables, fruit & cut flowers in season. Free range eggs. Herbs, herbaceous and perennial plants. Also pottery, sheep fleeces and handmade wool products.
